What Dalva keeps
Your email, name, email language, admin flag, households and their members, invitations, notes (including emails your mailbox forwards from senders you list, such as the school), your forwarding addresses (created when you open Mailbox), their allowed senders and, for 30 days, a list of forwarded emails with their time, sender domain and what Dalva did with each (the subject only for senders you listed), memory, contacts (including school details and phone numbers), calendar events, private calendar links, message drafts and sent-message records, and evening email dates. Household members can see each other's name and email, share and edit the memory, and invite adults. You can see note counts and activity dates in your account. The operator can see membership details, counts and dates, but the admin page never shows family notes or memory. No ads, tracking or selling.
How AI is used
To update the memory and write the evening email, Dalva sends only your household's notes (forwarded emails included), memory, saved contacts and calendar events to Google's Gemini models on Vertex AI, processed in the EU. Google handles them under its Google Cloud data processing terms and does not train its models on them.
Children and health
Notes often mention children. Dalva keeps what helps you prepare, such as an appointment, and leaves out medical details. Please only write what you want Dalva to remember.
Where it lives
Data is stored in Google Cloud's Belgium region. Sign-in uses Firebase (Google). Email goes through Resend, which keeps email logs for 30 days. When you review and send a message to a contact, Dalva shares that message and your reply email address with its recipient. Messages are sent from Dalva; replies go to your own email. Anyone holding a private calendar link can read its events, including through a calendar provider you choose. Replace the link to revoke access; providers may retain copies.
Deleting everything
Delete your account from your account space or the bottom of the Dalva page. This erases your profile, sign-in, invitations to or from you, and every household you belong to, including shared notes, memory, invitations, contacts, calendar events and links, message drafts, sent-message records and email dates. Other members lose those households but keep their own accounts and separate households. The confirmation explains this. Resend's email logs expire within 30 days.
